TL;DR

  • Black Friday 2026 is November 27 and Cyber Monday is November 30. No 2026 pet tech deals are out yet.
  • A KnownHost study found 29% of tracked products got more expensive the week before Black Friday 2024. Check the price history first.
  • With pet tech, the sticker is half the bill: GPS trackers need a plan, many cameras gate video history behind one, and some litter boxes run on pricey trays.
  • Add the hardware and two years of the plan or supplies, then compare. Our five devices to watch: Tractive DOG 6, Petcube Bites 2 Lite, Furbo 360, Litter-Robot 4, and the PetSafe ScoopFree as the cautionary one.

Will Black Friday 2026 have real pet tech deals?

Some will be real and some will be a markup with a sale badge, as every year. It is October, so no retailer has posted 2026 Black Friday pricing on feeders, cameras, trackers or litter boxes, and nothing below is a confirmed deal.

What you can do now is decide what a good price looks like for the device you want, so the decision in November takes thirty seconds instead of a panic in a checkout queue.

How do you spot a fake Black Friday discount?

Look at the price history before you trust the crossed-out price. KnownHost tracked 60 products through the 2024 run-up to Black Friday using CamelCamelCamel price data. 29% saw a price increase, averaging about 20.5%, in the week before Black Friday, before the "discount" was taken off that higher number. Only 42% held a stable price and then dropped to a genuine low.

The check takes a minute. Search the product name or ASIN on CamelCamelCamel and switch to the 90-day view. A real deal is a flat line followed by a drop to a new low. A fake one is a jump in the two weeks before Black Friday, then a "sale" that still lands above where the line sat a month earlier.

Then compare against the maker's own price, not a marketplace "list price". A list price far above what the brand charges on its own site is a fake ceiling, and a discount off it means nothing.

Why does the subscription matter more than the sticker?

Because many pet devices keep charging you after the sale. Three patterns show up again and again in our reviews:

Device typeWhat it needs after you buyWhy it matters on Black Friday
GPS trackersA cellular plan, or the tracker does not trackThe plan can outcost the hardware within a year
Treat camerasOften a plan for video history and smart alertsA cheap camera can be the dear one over two years
Self-cleaning litter boxesLiners, filters, or proprietary traysSome cheap boxes run on expensive consumables

The plan prices below come from the makers' own pages as cited in our reviews; check them again before buying, because plans change more often than hardware.

Which 5 pet tech devices are worth watching this year?

Tractive DOG 6, Petcube Bites 2 Lite, Furbo 360, Litter-Robot 4, and the PetSafe ScoopFree as the cautionary pick. Each one is here because the two-year cost tells a different story from the sticker.

DeviceTypeHardware (approx.)Ongoing cost (approx.)Two-year picture
Tractive DOG 6GPS tracker~$70$5–9 a monthCheapest real GPS to run
Petcube Bites 2 LiteTreat cameraVariesOptional, ~$6–10 a monthWorks fully without a plan
Furbo 360Treat cameraOften ~$54~$7 a month on the yearly planCheap box, plan is the real cost
Litter-Robot 4Self-cleaning litter box$649–699~$95–125 a year in suppliesExpensive up front, cheap to run
PetSafe ScoopFreeSelf-cleaning litter box~$200$260–375 a year in traysCheap up front, dear to run

Tractive DOG 6 is the GPS tracker to watch if you want live tracking at the lowest running cost. The hardware is about ~$70 and the plan runs roughly $5 to $9 a month depending on the commitment, about $60 to $108 a year (Tractive plans). For contrast, Fi's Series 3+ runs about $149 with a plan of roughly $19 to $25 a month (Fi membership pricing). A Black Friday cut on Tractive hardware saves you less than the plan difference does, so pick on the plan first. Skip it if your dog never leaves a fenced yard; a Bluetooth tag may be enough. More in our GPS tracker subscription guide.

Petcube Bites 2 Lite is the treat camera that works fully out of the box: live view, two-way audio and treat tossing need no plan, and Petcube Care (about $6 to $10 a month) only adds cloud video history and smart alerts (Petcube Bites 2 Lite). That makes any Black Friday price on it close to the real price. Skip it if you know you want recorded clips of what happened while you were out; then you are paying for a plan either way.

Furbo 360 Dog Camera treat-tossing pet camera, official product photo

Furbo 360 is the textbook "deal" to do the math on. The hardware often sells for around $54 against a much higher list price, but much of its value sits behind a Furbo Nanny plan, roughly ~$7 a month on the yearly plan or ~$10 a month month-to-month plus an activation fee (Furbo Help Center). Over two years the plan costs about three times the camera. Buy it if you want its alerts and will keep the plan; skip it if you were hoping for a cheap camera with no monthly bill. Our Furbo 360 vs Petcube comparison has the full breakdown.

Litter-Robot 4 automatic self-cleaning litter box with rotating globe, official product photo

Litter-Robot 4 is the opposite case. It costs $649 to $699 up front, so it is the device where a genuine Black Friday discount saves real money, but it runs on ordinary clumping litter with third-party liners and filters, about $95 to $125 a year in supplies. Skip it if the upfront price is the hard limit for your budget; no realistic discount brings it near the cheap boxes. See our self-cleaning litter box guide.

PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Pro self-cleaning litter box, official product photo

PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Pro is on this list as the warning. It headlines at about ~$200, under half the Litter-Robot 4, but each disposable crystal tray costs $20 to $25 and lasts 20 to 30 days for one cat: 12 to 15 trays a year, or $260 to $375 a year in trays alone. Within about two years it costs more than the Litter-Robot 4 it looked cheaper than. Only buy it if you plan the tray cost in, or switch to a reusable tray and bulk crystals, which cuts supplies to about $60 to $90 a year but brings back some scooping. Our Litter-Robot vs ScoopFree comparison runs the numbers.

When do Black Friday 2026 sales actually start?

Black Friday 2026 is November 27 and Cyber Monday November 30. Thanksgiving always falls on the fourth Thursday of November, and Black Friday is the day after. "Early Black Friday" sales have crept into mid-November in recent years; they are often real, but check them with the same price-history test rather than assuming early means best.

If you want a target to check against, write it down now: the most you would pay for the device plus two years of its plan or supplies. In November, buy only if the deal gets you under that number.

Where to buy

Prices move often, and plan prices change on the maker's side. Check both before you buy.

Which one should you buy, and should you wait?

Our pick: Tractive DOG 6 for GPS tracking, because it has the cheapest plan to keep. For a camera with no monthly bill, Petcube Bites 2 Lite.

Decide on the two-year cost, then let Black Friday only change the timing. For a GPS tracker, Tractive DOG 6 is the pick because its plan is the cheapest to keep. For a treat camera without a monthly bill, Petcube Bites 2 Lite; for the alerts and history, Furbo 360 with the plan counted in. For a self-cleaning litter box you will keep for years, Litter-Robot 4 is the one where a real discount matters most, and the ScoopFree is the cheap box to avoid unless the trays fit your budget.

If you need the device now, buy it now. A lost dog or an overflowing litter box will not wait for November, and on most of these the plan costs more than any Black Friday saving.
